Problems in writing essay
Of all types of
creative works, it is the writing of an essay that presents the greatest
difficulties and problems for students. This is due to the fact that in the
text the author must express his own opinion on the problem under
consideration. If, when writing a quiz or an abstract, it is sufficient to
simply list several points of view of authoritative authors on a particular
topic and interpret them, then when writing an essay, the student is required
to present his own vision of the issue in question. The fact that the essay
should be formulated by the author’s own point of view, and presents the
greatest problems when writing it. This problem is particularly relevant for
first-year students. At the initial stage of training, the students’ own point
of view on this or that problem is either not yet formed, or is in the
formative stage, therefore, writing an essay is fraught with certain
The problem of the student’s substantiation of his own point of view often coexists with the problem of the discrepancy between his or her vision and the teacher’s opinion. When writing an essay, the student’s point of view may not coincide with the teacher’s point of view on the period in question, which sometimes creates problems for the student with passing the test, the exam, or receiving a positive result. A lot of controversial issues arise in the design of the structure of work. Often when writing an essay, teachers require its standard design with the presence of the introduction, the main part, the conclusion. This is not always acceptable. An essay implies the free expression of one’s point of view in the form of a free composition, and it is not always possible to build it in accordance with the strict structure of writing.
